About miodesign

Prof. Arch. Orlin Davchev, Ph.D. is the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the UACEG, Sofia and a lecturer in the "Interior and Architectural Design" department. Together with Assoc. Prof. Arch. Maria Davcheva, Ph.D., he is the founder of the MIODESIGN Architectural Studio and the online platform for interior projects VIDEA. Orlin Davchev is the author of a number of projects in the field of urban planning, architecture and interior design. He is the winner of national and international awards, including Architecton, Golden Capital, Building of the Year, BIG SEE, International Academy of Architecture, etc. He is the author of monographs, textbooks, scientific and popular publications in the field of contemporary architecture. Participates in a number of scientific and educational projects.

Assoc. Prof. Arch. Maria Davcheva, Ph.D. is the co-founder of miodesign architectural studio, researcher in the field of contemporary architecture, master architect (UASG, 1997), Ph.D. (Center of Architectural Studies at BAS, 2003), associate professor (Institute of Art Studies at BAS, 2014), registered habilitation at NACID (2019), head of the Architecture Sector (Institute of Art Studies at BAS, 2015), editor-in-chief of Architecture magazine (2013 - 2019), co-founder of Platform for the Arts - platforma.artstudies.bg (2016) and DOCOMOMO Bulgaria (2018), member of the Union of scientists in Bulgaria (since 2016) and the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria (since 2004).
She is the author of two monographs (Modern commercial buildings in Bulgaria. 1990 - 2010 (2013) and Alternative solutions of modern shopping centers (2015), co-author of two biographical books (about architect Pencho Koichev (2016) and about Prof. Lili Atanasova (2016) and the research book series Architectural Images.

Neli Davcheva has been an intern at Miodesign since July 2022. She successfully participated in several interior projects, architectural concepts for residential buildings and the publication of the two volumes of the luxury bilingual series “Architectural Images. Bulgaria in the second half of the 20th century”.

Arch. Tung Nguyen is a PhD candidate in the Interior and Architectural design department at the UACEG and a lecturer at the Master of Science in Computational and Advanced design. He explores digital tools and methodologies with computational and parametric design. He is a member of the international organization DesignMorphine. Joins the Miodesign team in 2023

Tung Nguyen

Arch. Evelyn Kuzmanova completes her studies at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in 2022. She graduated from the Department of "Interior and Architecturаl design". Joins the miodesign team in 2021. Her main priority is developing both in-depth knowledge in the field of interior design, and intuition for creating unique solutions in different scales and genres.

is an architectural studio founded in 2005 by architects Maria and Orlin Davchevi. Today, Evelyn Kuzmanova, Neli Davcheva and Tung Nguyen are part of the team. We enthusiastically work on urban planning concepts, renovation and design of urban, public and residential spaces, interior solutions. We actively participate in the entire investment process because we believe that every detail is important. We experiment with innovative materials and technologies in the search for an individual image, sustainable and modern architecture, with regard to the Bulgarian identity.

Arch. Tung Nguyen is a doctoral student at “Interior and Architectural Design” at UACEG and a lecturer at the “Master of Science in Computational and Advanced Design” at UACEG.
